The Army Residence Community Wellness Center is the eighth project Rheinlander Architects completed with the Army Residence Community during our 25-year working relationship. To promote the approximately 750 residents’ physical and spiritual well-being, The Wellness Center consists of the following amenities: The “Café Bistro” offers alternative, healthy culinary options with indoor and outdoor seating. Extended hours conveniently accommodate residents not only at breakfast, lunch, and dinner but throughout the day and later evening hours. The fitness center contains a large variety of cardio equipment, state-of-the-art pneumatic weight training equipment, and a floor-exercise area. Located across the corridor from the fitness center, the physical therapy clinic can utilize the fitness equipment when required. The Sports Lounge contains a large bar with TVs hosting news and sports, tables reserved for games, an open area for dancing or other activities, a fireplace, and several intimate seating arrangements for socializing. Finally, an office suite provides relief for the campuses increased administrative and IT needs. The building boasts an extremely energy efficient envelope exceeding building codes and LEED requirements. The building envelope coupled with a variable-flow refrigerant HVAC system promises maximum efficiency and an expedient return on investment.
